Musical group The Modern Men performed selections from their recently-recorded CD in Halifax tonight. The group is based in Halifax and Toronto, and this marked one of their few public performances together on stage.

Multi-instrumentalist Arturo Sandoval is Cuba’s most famous jazz émigré, and is well-known for his lifelong associations with Chucho Valdes, Paquito D’Rivera, and Dizzy Gillespie. He turned in an astounding performance in Halifax on trumpet, piano and vocals.
